A Review on Luminescence properties in Eu Doped Phosphate Phosphors

چکیده
In 1996, Matsuzawa et al. reported on the enormously long-lasting afterglow of SrAl2O4: Eu 2+ co-doped with Dy ions, which was more than 10-times brighter than the previously widely used ZnS: Cu. Since then, research for stable and efficient phosphors has constantly gained attractiveness. However, even today almost 15 years after the invention of SrAl2O4: Eu 2+ the number of luminescent materials is still comparatively low. Furthermore, the mechanism behind this phenomenon is still uncertain. Although most of the authors agree on the general features, such as the existence of long-lasting trap levels, many details are still shrouded in unknown. In this review, we present an outline of the important phosphate based phosphors of known luminescent materials based on Eu doping and how they were prepared, and we take a closer look at the mechanisms and applications that have been suggested to explain bright afterglow in various compounds.

Luminescence Properties of Eu and Mn Doped Sr2MgSiO5 Phosphors
Eu ions doped Sr2MgSiO5 phosphors, and EuMn ions-doped Sr2MgSiO5 phosphors were prepared via high-temperature solid state reaction method and sol-gel process, respectively. Luminescent mechanism and characteristics of all samples were studied. The results showed that lattice structure of Eu ion-doped Sr2MgSiO5 samples was pyramidal system. The influence of flux on luminescence properties of Eu ...
متن کاملEffect of LiCl on the Microstructure and Luminescence Properties of YVO4:Eu3+ and YBO3:Eu3+ Phosphors
In this investigation, Eu3+ doped YVO4 /YBO3 phosphors were synthesized individually by conventional solid state method at 1100 °C under atmosphere condition. Meanwhile, different amounts of LiClwere used as the flux compound to modify the morphology of the phosphor particles and also final luminescence properties. It was concluded that even small amounts of fluxes play a vital role in the grow...
متن کاملEffect of the vanadium(V) concentration on the spectroscopic properties of nanosized europium-doped yttrium phosphates.
Nanosized rare earth phosphovanadate phosphors (Y(P,V)O(4):Eu(3+)) have been prepared by applying the organic-inorganic polymeric precursors methodology. Luminescent powders with tetragonal structure and different vanadate concentrations (0%, 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 50%, and 100%, with regard to the phosphate content) were then obtained for evaluation of their structural and spectroscopic properties....
متن کاملLuminescence properties and energy transfer in Tb3+ and Eu3+ co-doped Ba2P2O7 phosphors
The Ba2P2O7:Tb , Eu phosphors were synthesized by a high temperature solid-state reaction method in air atmosphere and their crystal structures, lifetime, luminescence properties, and energy transfer mechanism were investigated in detail. A series of characteristic emissions of Ba2P2O7:Tb , Eu phosphors were observed in the emission spectra at around 545 nm, 593 nm, and 613 nm when excited at 3...
متن کاملLuminescence and luminescence quenching of highly efficient Y2Mo4O15:Eu3+ phosphors and ceramics
A good LED phosphor must possess strong enough absorption, high quantum yields, colour purity, and quenching temperatures. Our synthesized Y2Mo4O15:Eu(3+) phosphors possess all of these properties. Excitation of these materials with near-UV or blue radiation yields bright red emission and the colour coordinates are relatively stable upon temperature increase. Furthermore, samples doped with 50%...
